School Nurses (5-19 years team) are qualified nurses with specialist training in Public Health for children, young people and families.
They lead and deliver the Healthy Child Programme for 5-19 year olds, (up to the age of 25 for people with special educational needs and/or disabilities), and their families.

Yormind is a website created to talk to young people about mental health in York.
There is a whole host of information on conditions, support, services and the podcast Chat-Chit. What’s on this website and what has been created has been motivated and guided by young people in York and people who have witnessed first-hand what young people have to go through with their mental health.
For support and information on anything to do with family life, York Family Information Service can help you. The team provide information to any family, on anything whether you have a tot, teen or are pregnant. If you are a parent or carer and have a child aged from conception up to 19 years (or 25 years if your child has special educational needs or disabilities) get in touch.

The Parent Carer Forum York is an established and recognised group who work with parents and carers of children or young people with additional needs or disabilities (0-25) who live in York. We are a voluntary organisation.

Where there are significant immediate concerns about the safety of a child, you should contact the police on 999.
If you have a concern that a child is vulnerable or at risk of significant harm, please contact the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in York on 01904 551900 and select option 5 or email MASH@york.gov.uk. The York Carers Centre support young people aged between 5 and 18 who are helping to look after someone at home. They provide youth clubs, trips, one on one support, support in schools and a discount card.
Their telephone lines are open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm (4pm on a Friday) for information and advice. They have a free evening Advice Line on Wednesdays from 5 to 8pm on their main number: 01904 715 490.
